On the Publishing House:

Edizioni E/O was founded in 1979 in Rome and is specialized in literary fiction. In addition to its growing list of bestselling frontlist titles, Edizioni E/O has an extensive backlist of longselling classic titles.

Collections:
  • Dal Mondo (From the World): translated and Italian literary fiction. In this collection, Edizioni E/O publishes a range of works of striking breadth, depth, and quality by both new and well-established authors such as Svetlana Aleksievic, Gioconda Belli, Kazimierz Brandys, Pedro Juan Gutiérrez, Christoph Hein, Bohumil Hrabal, Jean-Claude Izzo, Etgar Keret, Yasmina Khadra, Savyon Liebrecht, Selim Nassib, Joyce Carol Oates, Juan Manuel de Prada, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, Alice Sebold, Christa Wolf, and the Italians Massimo Carlotto, Elena Ferrante, Lia Levi, Paolo Teobaldi and many others.
  • Noir Mediterraneo (Mediterranean Noir): a genre that identifies in this geographical area an axis of criminal and political conflict, and publishes preeminent and commercially very successful authors such as Jean-Claude Izzo and Massimo Carlotto. This genre can be seen as close to crime fiction, but with the significant difference that the literary quality is much higher and that no simple or standard schemes of crime-investigation-discovery/punishment are applied.
  • I Leoni (The Lions): this collection offers an image of the greatness of contemporary African and Caribbean literature, which can be said to be among the most creative in the world. It contains the works of authors such as Chinua Achebe, Maryse Condé, Ahmadou Kourouma, Abasse Ndione, Zakes Mda, Cheik Hamidou Kane, Boris Boubacar Diop, Calixthe Beyala, Gisèle Pineau, and others.
  • Vite Narrate (Narrated Lives): a recently started collection of outstanding literary and novelized biographies. Recent and forthcoming subjects: Hemingway & Fitzgerald, Glen Gould, Sissi, Sylvia Plath, Christa Wolf, Greta Garbo, and others.
  • Le Rose di... (The Roses of...): broad collection of anthologies of short stories by women’s authors coming from a particular geographical area. In this line, E/O has published among others The Roses of Japan, The Roses of Greece, The Roses of Latin-America, The Roses of Russia, The Roses of Egypt, The Roses of China, et cetera.
  • Il Baleno (The Whale): imprint for children’s books, publishing high quality children’s fiction by internationally acclaimed authors such as Wolf Erlbruch, Richard Scrimger, Etgar Keret, Giovanni Nucci, Luisa Mattia and Giovanni De Feo.
  • Yoga Kundalini: new imprint for books on Kundalini Yoga.
